April 2011 Event
Had a great time this event! Stayed very busy and, more importantly, felt like I was actually accomplishing stuff, making a difference, and being heroic - a sense that is often missing. When just trying to survive, these aspects aren't really present, but here we were saving lives, dismantling criminal rings, and gathering intelligence against a grave threat.
Twice escaping rather >ahem< *unfortunate* outcomes at literally the very last second made for some pretty exciting times!
New PCs and NPCs integrated very well and added much to the event. Great to meet you all!
Some better setting information would have made for a smoother event, however. The Seer visions about raids on warehouses could have used the addition "that you don't recognize". Just being told warehouses are being attacked leaves the assumption they're Haven warehouses. Knowing they're ones we've never seen before would have greatly affected in-game actions and mindset.
On the same token, creature discriptions were severely lacking Friday night. Rarely knew what we were fighting unless someone broke scene to shout 'What do I see'. Fortunately this was much improved by Saturday.

Hey first event for me in a long while and I had a great time, so thanks for all making my B day weekend awesome! There were some I didnt get to see and well poop on you.
And so you things know I will be be back sometime with more things to do things that other things wont like and therewill be like pow pow bang on things and screams and things going WAAAAAA and bang, and hopefully the thing that fell down will be back because you will sure need that thing against the other things I assure you...

The only thing I didn't enjoy was "undescribable monsters." I didn;t know if that was plot, and nothing was magic to check it...
I had an excellent event and am REALLY glad I showed on Friday.
The puzzle plots were fun and I noticed alot of the battles were not soaked with highly lethal creatures.
I appreciated the friendly nature of the game stop on Saturday to put things away. A normally keyed up group might have turned ugly but everyone was pleasant during that.
I really liked my research and the way some things went.
Great event, regardless of the outcome. I loved the fight between me and the big three. They were devoid of PERSONAL hostility during that fight and were very funny during the time stop.
That is all.

Had a wonderful time this event from meeting new dwarves to rigging up the inn to ignoring spiders tapping on the windows , the zombies where great a real sense of "Holy hell! we're gonna get eaten" and then all of it being gone so quick. I'm sore now but i cant wait the next one cant come soon enough good job guys !
Well...overall I had fun
I was worried about this event going in, mostly because of some off season changes from my standpoint...
I was just not all that excited before the event, and that worried me a bit...
Once I got there and got things straightened out, and waited to get back in game things were good again...
The looks I got from the Queen this weekend were priceless, and a couple of our interactions definitly made me think...
I know with everything that happened with Abbadon, which by the way was EPIC and I hate and love you equally Travis, was a true defining moment for me...
I LOVED THE SEER VISIONS! Very good way of handling those! Makes perfect sense and makes them seem random.
The feeling of something purposely messing with visions and memories has me thinking we are gonna be at battle with something truely powerful and sinister!
I also LOVED all the new people! I hope they all come back, and cant wait until July....hopefully I am available to play!!
Special Thanks to all the GM's/NPC's and it was GREAT seeing everyone again!

I started playing Final Haven at the second event they ran. The last time I PCed was the night of burning skulls, and have only attended an event once since, and that was the dreaming weekend and I NPCed with a small group of Friends.
I have to say this last event was the smoothest I have seem ever, with the absolute LEAST amount(nearly none) of PC gripes/drama/heated rules arguments/plot apathy ever.
When I first arrived and got caught up on who played still and who didnt, I was a bit saddened because there were a few I was looking forward to seeing again.
By the end of the fort fight Saturday, that was replaced by how impressed by how much of a kind and considerate role playing and social community the FH players had become.
I have to say there were TONS more quality RP than I am used to seeing at FH. almost no rules squabbles, and certainly none that got as venomous as I was used to seeing at least once per event.
The check in/check out/and plot sheduling and timing were about the best I have ever seen at FH.
Add to that a great web of plots and some awesome padded stick battles, and thios may have been the best FH/WH event I have participated in.
Kudos to staff and players alike for renewing my faded enjoyment of the system.

I had an absolute blast this event!
I only have two gripes. The first is that I injured my leg before midnight on friday and it affected me throughout the event, and the second is that the event didn't run until wednesday so I could finish everything that I had on my plate!
One scene really sticks out for me from this event. Morgan and Aeric went to speak to Esmerelda, and the conversation went something like this:
Morgan: Well, we checked out Death Mountain. There's lava!
Esmerelda:(To Aeric) You went to Death Mountain alone!?
Aeric: I didn't go alone...
Morgan: I didn't go alone either.
There is nothing that I can think of that I didn't like about this event, and far too much to type that I enjoyed thoroughly. I will say 'Great Job' to the new NPCs that were running with the vets this event, I hope to see them again.
And I certainly will have a hard time waiting for the next event!

Epic event! That's all I have to say. There were so many things that were wrong and so many things that were right with this event that by the time Clean-Up started on Sunday, my mind was fried like a crab rangoon at the Peking Palace. >=P
As a personal note: medical problems may hinder me from LARPing in cold weather in the very near future, but all-in-all, I'm still going to push myself to keep going to every event. I really enjoyed meeting all of the new players, who fought so amazingly that I was blown away by their bravery and intense role-playing. So, thank you all new players! You guys were amazing! And of course, it was great to see and talk with everyone after a long winter away from friends and fellow-larpers alike. I truly missed you all!
GM's, thank you for making this such an intensely detailed and jarringly different event for all of us. I've never really seen an event like this one in my history of CARPS, Final Haven, or Winter Haven. So, hats off to you guys!
Thanks Dave/Johnny for escorting me back and forth from my car at 5am in the dark, and for helping me pack up my crap so I didn't have to do it last-minute. Very cool of you, sir! I owe you! ^_^ Thank you Fiona/Dani and Melissa/Esmeralda for the food. I only ate the breakfast on Sunday, but I know you girls work hard every time to feed everyone and keep morale up, so thank you! Thank you Dallid for being the real Hero Healer of the event. I couldn't believe how amazing you were in those battles! Thank you Sunny, Dani/Legion, Chance, and Theon for involving me in some of the most intensely soul-searching and beautifully emotional role-playing I have ever witnessed in my life.
I think that concludes my special shout-outs and comments, and I'm hoping I didn't forget anyone. Looking forward to see you guys in July! ^_^ Take care!

I had a great time at the event. I had a lot of fun and enjoyed the amount of plots that were going in as well the variety. I'm actually surprised at how much fun I had at the event! The first event of the year is usually kind of lackluster, there is a lot of set up for the rest of the year so a lot of plots can be stalled out.
That was not the case at this event. You could do as much as you wanted to and the plot had a beginning and an end for the most part.
I would also like to note that I liked the stat's of the monsters we were fighting. The challenge was perfect. A majority of the monsters I fought swung 1 and maybe had an add on call like poison or disease and could charge for 2. These monsters provided a challenge and made combat fun. Having more NPC's definitely ups the challenge of a fight, enough that some fights I thought we would have no problems ended with a couple of dead PC's.
A wonderful event. Sad I had to leave early.

sorry so late to post, but here it is
i had an absolute blast, i was very pleased at the level of roleplaying, rarely if ever did i run into people talking out of game. althought i didn't pc for very long, the enteractions i did have were priceless. i would like to throw a particular shout out to Francesco. with out you, my event would not have ended as great as it did.
i enjoyed the under the sea plot, and the trap all of the players willing walked into, it really was fun seeing you all pass out from the drink.
Chance ans Sunny, you also were great dinamics to my character advancement, thank you for adding to his plot.
i was sad to walk away from you all but sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do. that being said thanks to all the new players, the gm's and npc's, and all the other players, what an amazing first event and i can't wait for the next one.
