“I do indeed ssset out thisss morning. “ Slisk looks around. “And othersss should alssso be arriving sssoon. But with your asssissstanccce, we may depart by noon with or without them.” “With the othersss, Atrum will declare the way. But if we mussst travel on our own, we shall make for the Lizardfol...

These words confused Slisk. He understood honor and duty, but what was this about ‘Light’ and ‘Dark’? They appeared to be motives – Warchief Thynedar apparently favored those of Light while Vaun preferred those of Dark. Kidwynn the Gray and Atrum... all? Slisk didn’t care – motives were the province...

Slisk straightened somewhat at Atrum’s words, taking heart at his promise. The barbarians would be found, all right. Then Vaun spoke of war. She vowed no bard would bear to speak of it, but her promise of death and glory were music to his ears. The white female had the look of one steeped in magic, ...

Rallying Call

The early morning sun shown through the haze and leaves to form shifting patterns of light on the road. Slisk stood by, the travel kit he had carried into Winter Haven that one fateful stormy night again on his back, his meager rations slung beneath. A shield on his arm and a sword slung at his side...

Slisk surpressed a sigh. One more day. The trail was all ready cold, but the barbarians moved out enmass. The trail would not easily fade, and one more day would not break the quest. He gave a brisk nod to Atrum. "Asss you wish, Regent of Haven." Then he listened as Vaun described the enem...

If you keep your weapon between yourself and your opponent, then you probably aren't charging.

Slicks nods to Rosamund as she departed. Wise, indeed, were the mystics – this one foreseeing the need for crafting and the healing of soft-skins. He then snaps to attention facing Atrum. “Then thisss one will accompany you in thisss tasssk. A misssion of diplomacccy and exploration to rally Haven’s...

Once more Slisk found himself without orders to carry out, but this time he was happy for it. For the first time in more than a decade, there was something he, himself, was determined to do. The words of his Drillmaster echoed in his ears as he strode purposefully toward the Inn. A weapon that think...

I didn’t have a very good time, but that certainly had nothing to do with the NPCs. They were fantastic and awesome as usual. Awesome-riffic. The weather was the worst part. Extra costuming is a must. I’d feel sick and exhausted until I got out of my thoroughly soaked cloths and into something dry, ...

Slisk watches as Kels and Shale say their good-byes. ‘Taking their friend home’ they said. Home. He eyed the Phoenix travelers with envy. As much as he hated to admit it, he was becoming very homesick. He had tried to blame it on the Spring courting season, but the feeling was a more significant, de...

I certainly don’t feel cheated by ‘easier’ armor matching – or even surpassing – my armor soak. There’s a look and concept I’m going for, and that just happens to involve platemail. Heck, due to armor restrictions in the skill sets I have, that platemail is mostly medium armor (and I need to send a ...

What I want to hear from is Doug I've posted my take on the armor, and stand by it. Aluminum chain looks plenty real to me. Without seeing the weave, I'd default it to Heavy (if you think the weave is loose, downgrade it to Medium). To me, 'crossing the joint' means coverage both above and below th...

Chain is heavy in my book. The added leather is just more-so. Heavy torso - 3 points. Chain upper arm - heavy. Hardened leather lower arm - medium. It's a full arm, to be sure, but heavy or medium? I'd say 2.5 points. Chain upper legs - heavy. Plate lower legs - heavy. Heavy full legs - 3 points. Gi...
