winter nearing its end in Haven

Ark walked through the streets of Redemption, Havens capital city, he looked over the castle Blackwatch and the various shops and houses, the people going here and there. It had come a long way from being nothing more then broken walls and a bloody inn with only a couple dozen people fighting for survival every day. but still Ark seemed worried. He had finished another meeting with Korrigan and it left him concerned. Everyone had assumed that when the Vanguard Alliance had formed it was inherently stable and relatively free of problems and thus focus could begin looking outward.
the Vanguard Navy consisting of ships from Haven, Dawnvale, and any other allied Navies had been doing rather well at wiping out piracy and had begun extending protection further and further. The vanguard had begun sending out expeditionary forces to small pockets of the wildlands, the Brennonites of Brennondale were of the first, but the wildlands were quite vast and Brennondale quite small. Ark had heard rumors that other nations were beginning to set up settlements in the wildlands as well and was determined to inquire about this as he went about his chores.
Other then being a commissioned officer of Dawnvale Ark was an Ambassador for it, so his chores regularly consisted of visiting the alliance nations and various outposts. he accepted that he would not be returning to Brennondale, but luckily for him the views and opinions of that town were shared by no one else in the vanguard alliance, and if other nations had outposts that provided him with the means to keep track of the wildlands. though as he had already expressed, the wildlands were not what worried him but rather the feeling of domestic trouble that seemed to hang in the air, and his meeting with Korrigan only left him more worried.
Ark realized he had stopped walking and was staring at a tree, one of the trees the elves had planted within Haven. he blinked a few times to snap out of it and continued walking. Winter would be ending shortly so hunting season on the high seas would be starting up soon. he had kept his ship in port nearly all season last year because he had been so busy with other tasks, it just did not allow him time to captain it. He had asked a friend to share command of it with him this year. He did plan on setting out with it this season but new he still had diplomatic chores to attend to and was ever more nervous being away from Haven when it felt like something was coming. . .
He continued to mull things over in his head as he set out for another nation, he wondered how the elves were doing.
