Rename needed for Warrior Skill?
Master Skills
"Improved Combat Reflexes" – Passive Skill
Warriors know how to take blows and avoid them, thus making them tougher to defeat in battle. A character receives 3 points of Combat Reflexes from this skill (See Page 108).
Path Specific Heroic Actions
...
Warrior
...
"Improved Combat Reflexes": The Warrior can restore their Combat Reflexes instantly.
Anyone else see an issue here? Maybe we rename it something like Heroic Refit Combat Reflexes or something.
Two skills that do two different things, shouldn't be named the same thing I think.

-Eli (Full Elvish: Elaith Vonaduran Craulnober)
There once was a man named Eli,
A man who claimed he could not die.
But one thing makes him wail:
That's when there is no ALE!
Thus his tale: with no beer, he will cry.
(The dark haired, green eyed mage child has faded into the past leaving behind one not quite an adult, but clearly no longer a child. The warrior-mage mixture that he has become can only be described as a survivor. )

Re: Rename needed for Warrior Skill?
The above section is NOT a list of skills with the same names as path skills, but different effects.Empath

Improved Channel:
The Empath may move after charging any channel.
Essence Burn:
You call “Lash Scorch”with a 30 second charge (can move after charge).

It IS a list of the path skills that can be upgraded to Heroic versions.....if you chose "Improved Combat Reflexes" to upgrade, you gain "HEROIC Improved Combat Reflexes" ...NOT "Improved Combat Reflexes" with different effects.

Resolved. Unless we want to add Heroic to their names.

Re: Rename needed for Warrior Skill?
What about the specialty skill section, where all the skills are renamed as "improved"?
Warrior
Improved Determination (Basic): Through their advanced knowledge a character with this skill may still walk, talk, and carry another person while in the negatives. They may not run, attack, block incoming damage or use any skills.
Improved Hold Ground (Basic): Through their advanced knowledge a character with this skill treats all Melee attacks as if they are from the front while using Hold Ground.
Improved Endurance (Advanced): Through their advanced knowledge a character with this skill may continue to block damage while in the negatives, but still may not use skills (except for Determination or Improved Determination) or attack.
Improved Defensive Matrix (Advanced): Through their advanced knowledge a character with this skill may spend 1 Life Point to activate Improved Defensive Matrix. While using Improved Defensive Matrix a Warrior’s offensive damage is reduced to 0 (zero) and they can use no other skills; however, all incoming melee damage is reduced by 1 point. The character may not move while using this specialty.
Improved Parry (Master): Through their advanced knowledge a character with this skill may now Parry Lash attacks with a number attached to them, in addition to the normal Parry ability.
Improved Combat Reflexes (Master): Through their advanced knowledge a character with this skill may now refresh all their Combat Reflexes in 2 minutes, per the combat reflexes limitations.

Re: Rename needed for Warrior Skill?
Referencing the original topic of the post, how improved combat reflexes is a bit of a name duplication.
When a Warrior specializes he gains the improved version of one of the below skills.
Determination becomes Improved Determination
Hold Ground becomes Improved Hold Ground
Endurance becomes Improved Endurance
Defensive Matrix becomes Improved Defensive Matrix
and Parry becomes Improved Parry
But then Improved Combat Reflexes becomes... Improved Combat Reflexes?
I don't see a huge problem with it, but it seemed on topic so I thought I'd bring it up.

Re: Rename needed for Warrior Skill?
Kaylan, I'm not talking about that, Heroic Improved Combat Reflexes is on page 75 of the rulebook (quoted below) and I agree with you, that one doesn't need any changing
What I'm talking about is on page 73 of the rulebook where the warrior would pick his skill specialties at level 11, 27 and 42 (again quoted below).Warrior:
Improved Combat Reflexes: The Warrior can restore their Combat Reflexes instantly.
Spell-Wall: The Warrior may take up to ten steps before using this ability.
Parry/Avoid Blow: The Warrior can use this skill on attacks from any direction.
Yes Page 75 is a list of skills that can be upgraded to heroic versions, but I'm not talking about the Heroic version of Improved Combat Reflexes, where you can spend a hero point to regain your combat reflexes instantly, I'm talking about the specialized version of Improved Combat Reflexes, where you can refresh your combat reflexes in 2 mins. All the other specialized skills for warrior and other classes were renamed as "Improved <original skill name>", but Improved Combat Reflexes still has the same name as before.Warrior
