: hunched over on a fallen log Rothek sat gnawing on remnants of a bone from what could have been a deer or other woodland animal when his ears perked up and the creature lifted his head to sniff the air, the wind carried a sweet smell, Rothek clutched the bone in between his jaws and began to follow the smell.

moving on all fours, except for smelling the air rothek found himself met with a large stone building surrounded by a high wall. he carefully inspected the sight for it was something he had not seen before. he stood up from the ground and sniffed again, this was where the smell was coming from! he slowly walked on two legs toward the gate and he inspected it bringing a large clawed hand up and touched the gate bringing his hand down making well more than conspicuous thump:

:puzzled by the large gate rothek thumped his hand against it a few times and sniffed the air again, the smell was still in the air and this towering barrier was impeding him!. this frustrated rothek and he let out a growl as he grabbed one end of the bone he had brought with him and pulled on it until it snapped in half with a crack. he spat out the broken piece and dropped the other half where he stood and began to walk along the walls of the keep, sniffing and snorting along the way as he looked for a possible way to find out what was making the wonderful smell.:

:rothek had search the full perimeter of the castles walls and not a crack or crevice to be found, he sniffed the air again this time there was an addition to the smell, he couldn't really tell what it was but he thought he smelled a faint hint of apple's. this new addition made him more curious, not that he very much cared for fruit, but still he crawled over toward the gate where he had originally discover the keep. thumped it again with a clawed hand and waited for a few minutes, he looked around the area he had newly discovered and noticed smoke rising off in the distance. seeing that his search had yielded nothing here, rothek rose to his hind legs and began to walk through the woods towards the rising smoke.:

The trail of smoke leads to a small cabin on just outside of the borders of Haven, near a small stream. The smell of the smoke is fresh cut pine, and the dry crackle of meat.
The door is black, and candle light flickers behind small thick paned windows. At least two people can be heard inside.

as rothek came closer to the small cabin he slowly bent down and continued the rest of the way towards the small residence on all fours. sniffing the air as he had been doing, he smelled meat coming from inside and it smelled good! rothek's mouth began to water as it had now been sometime since his last meal and the smell of cooking meat was more than enough to move him closer to the cabin in the woods, but not too close but just close enough so he was able to peer inside through the window to see inside.

The windows were small and made of thick paned glass, making it impossible to see anything other than the flicker of light and motion of the bodies inside. A huge eye appeared at Window, magnified by the glass frame and black as the night sky.

"Kami, did you hear that?" Says a voice from inside.

:rothek reared back as the large black eye suddenly came into view, he leaped to two feet and bared his teeth at the window. rothek growled as he backed away from the cabin. then from behind him he heard the sound of foot steps. he quick snapped his head backward toward the oncoming steps and then looked back at the cabin, he quickly darted off into the woods and hid himself so to raise the attention of who or what was coming towards the cabin.
