The sky is filled with wings and shadows.

Townsmen with the shakes huddle around the glowing embers of what may have been a roaring fire. Speak quick, lest thee be to long in the open!

There is a storm of crows overhead, flying in circles like a ravinous hungry cloud. Wings and talons and the near constant cawing of the hungry animals. They circle over head flying in a single congealed mass.

Two figures approach the the fire, writhed in shadow and flame. The first, an Avyana man, decorated in grim and savage attire carrying a sword. His features are angular and sharp, and his feathers are so black they have a blue shine. A few animals skulls hang around his neck in a chain, and his thick leather boots are decorated from animal bone.

On his belt there is a dangling leather pouch. Made from thick well oiled badger skin, it is sealed, but a dull rancid odor can be picked from it, and it seems to be moving slightly, undulating.

other one, is a tall woman, skin black, and long hair wreathed in flames that seem to hover. Her face and ears are elven, mostly. But her face and chin is elongated into that of a horse. She looks fierce and impatient.

They approach the fire and sit down in front of it, pulling meat from a pouch. The Avyana man puts the slightly rancid meat into his mouth, and warms his hands by the fire.

The feathered man opens up his leather sewn bag. Inside is is a factory of death and disease. Huge maggots with tipped black heads and sharp flesh slicing mouths wriggle around, as he drop a piece of meat into the bag. The lid closes and the outsides undulate likes worms beneath skin.

The cold air blows their cloaks up, and you can tell that they are here for something. It is as though they can sense the deaths that are coming. They are passing though these two.
