Speaking of Cloaks...

I'm in need of one.....

It would be for Lycaelon of course. And I need specific things...

But, I also need it as cheap as I can get it too. So yeah. I have my measurements already too.

Length: 63 inches.
Shoulder: 21 inches.
Arm: 30 inches.

I want the cloak thinger to be made out of warm material. Color black of course.. I want dark red trim all around every edge. The arms I want to be fairly large (like a wizard..) And a button closed pocket in each cuff. I would like a cowl (sp?) not a hood. And I would like one pocket over each hip, and on the inside over the chest, each side. I would also like the cloak to have dark red lining on the inside as well. And I also have a symbol I would like put on the back of the cloak, but that can be done later.

If anyone is willing to do this for a fair price, let me know.

Thanks,
Casey

How much do you think it would cost to make tha cloak for me?

I also have the symbol chosen and drawn too. Basically its an Ankh, but its really cool looking.

Holy crap.. Triple post! -dies-

Well, I'm willing to pay for all the materials of course. And your time spent on it. 30 to 50 sounds reasonable to me. (since at the store just a simple cloak (a good on one) costs 70... price gouging SOBs)

It really does depend on the fabric though, and how big you want the cloak.

Seamstress charges are often 20-25$ per hour. If you already have material and pattern, (with your trim and extra pockets) you are probably looking at 4-8 hours of work for a custom cloak.

A 'fair' price from a seamstress for custom work of this kind could easily be 150-200. Not including materials.

Just an FYI - custom work can often be costly, so if you estimate is higher than you expected do not be too surprised. As an alternative - consider buying a simple black cloak after the holliday and having the pockets and trim added. That would take considerably less time, and save you on material costs.
