New Disciplines

Post by Lambic »

because Nelkie's thread was a little full...

If a grenadier was throwing knives could you use the 4th level Knight ability Blade Mastery (or whatever its called)?

Are there rules for making throwing weapons or are packets used?

Can we make knife shaped packets?

I really like both of the New Disciplines. I was interested in something like grenadier for a while and tribal protecter is also very nice. I don't think its over powered, as Nelkie suggested. The resist magic ability is really nice though.

I think grenider is a bit too powerful with the full 5 crush...

They have every bonus of a close fighter, but all the range of an empath... Other than ammo there are no down sides.

And I do like that Savage has acces to some of those abilities now, but it seems like an overly sweet skill grouping.

An archer with a packet bow could be argued to have all the power of a warrior with the range of an empath

So do Grenadiers have to have phys-reps for all of the things they plan to throw? ie If they want to throw 20 knives/axes/stones before having to pick them up, do they have to upkeep 20 knives/axes/stones and have phys-reps for them or is more like Archers, who are considered to have unlimited arrows but upkeep their bows?

Also anyone know of a tutorial for making coreless weapons?

A grenider needs to physrep their weapons, but you did make a good point of upkeep. Will think on this

I’ve just wrapped a pair of foam sheets (cut from carpet padding) in duct tape to make throwing daggers. But there’s another Doug who’s method will probably yield better results – sandwich one such foam sheet between two pieces of cardboard. Make sure the foam extends passed the cardboard on all edges by a half-inch or so, and wrap it in duct tape. The cardboard should offer greater weight and stability.

Just so, the slow soco has this clear, you cannnot throw anything for damage now, unless you have Grenider...

I am refering to rocks, daggers, etc...
