That doesn't mean that their goal is to kill, or to get ultimate power or rule the world. Smart evil knows the top power guy gets all the crap so they try and stay somwhere in the middle.
Everyone will lose out at somepoint, it's just inevitable.

Evil should indeed reap it's own rewards. In fact, there ought to be quests available every event specifically for evil PCs (Maybe there all ready are. Playing Dallid, I woundn't know
).

Every plot that is written has several ways it could be played. Every plot can be for evil PCs and every plot can be for good PCs. Its all about how its played. SOme may lean towards one or the other but they can all be wrestled in any direction.
