Valks...

I know Pentag from way back. I think of him as the "old school" representation of (then) Valkyries. I am considering playing a Valk and want to get into the collective head of the race to get a picture of what is "typical". I look at the norm, so that I may forge an atypical member of that race. I always play an oddball, it seems. As I said earlier, I consider Pentag to be the old way of thought.
I haven't even thought about Valks since I was playing at CARPS in year two. I had thoughts of playing one after Lex ate it, but never came to fruition because an event or two earlier a certain two dagger weilding Valk with death on his mind came around. He, as it turned out, was very similar to MY Valkyrie Assassin "Solstice". Unfortunate Serendipity. I was thinking of revisiting the race, now as Valkin' vi.
What I was wondering about was a couple of things:
1) What role do PCs of this race play in the society of Haven? Are any politically active?
2) Without disclosing your character build, are the majority of Valks roguish? It seems like the race is set up for this type of activity, all the way back from its origin. Now that all races are compatible with all path/ discipline combos, do any PCs explore paths other than rogue with the Valk?
thanks,
Steve

I think you cookie cutted this alot. "Free your Mind"
Pentag was never ever a representation of the race or even how the race was viewed.
I think one thing that is consistant with Velks is they tend to be more soft spoken and quiet. They tend to act in a way that makes them seem mysterious to even mitrustfull to other races (but not each other). I could see them talking in very prophetic ways or in parables. They perfer the shadows and fringe of socienty since they have a hard time being trusted or understood by other races
Now mechanicaly yes they seem geered toward rogues, but that doesn't mean too much

My character is odd for a Valk - the clothes are shinier than a discoball. So a bit of a fop really. However, Chris' description of soft-spoken is accurate for the most part with Eilonwy. I have gotten entangled in politics though it was unintentional; the character is more of a diplomat than bureaucrat. Chris' mention of prophetic works too; Eilonwy's a Sage that consults runes and has visions. There is also a soft-spoken, knightly streak. *shrug* Not really concerned if people know my "build" or not. That said, my character also has mixed blood.
