April 4th Updates

Post by Todd »

A few of the updates, just real quick, are here. I'll get more up to you soon.

Boons;
Elf, 2 point boom, may move. Light Armor restriction.
Dwarf, Poison resistance, 2 LP cost.
Gnomes, are NO LONGER a playable race.
Orcs, still debaiting. Answers soon. Possibly renew the online discussion.
Avianna, Flee for 5 sec. Works like, and stacks with, other flee effects.
Valken Vi', 3 point backstab. Works like, and stacks with, other Backstab effects.

Guild skills / House priveledges;
This is perhaps the biggest change in the game. The roles of the Guilds and Houses have been reversed. Now the Guilds will have resource benifits, and trade goods. While the Nobility will benifit by having the extra skills, and abilities. Starting with House heads, then Thanes, Barons, Dukes, and finally Kings. There is a charted system for the Trade Routes, the 'yeild' of each Route will increase as the Guilds level does, unless the Guild decides to branch out into multiple resources. There are still 5 levels of guilds, the 5th attained by the 'All Race Guild' The Guild Head no longer gets a level increase, they do however have control of All the guilds resources, to distribute as they wish.

More to come later..

I'll wait for most of it, but aviana ability is way too powerful. 10 second flee for 2 life (using it twice) is excessively powerful. It's by far the most powerful combat ability, well most powerful of all of them. Put it back to the hop. It's quirky but neat. Technically, the hop has the ability to be semi cool, just isn't used that much. Like most racial abilities.

For the record, I was a fan of the 'hop' as well, but I was outvoted.

Um...please tell me this is a typo. Does not 2 LP seem to be a bit excesive?

Would not this make the boon for anything other than a dwarvin warrior unuseable?

Ouch......yeah that does seem a bit stiff. If a dwarf is taking poison damage that means he is already in life points..... a lot of good it would do to resist the poison, if the actual resisting kills him anyway.

Was just bieng able to resist poison 1 as an passive ability too powerful?

Just thoughts

FYI- You have the resist poison during deilvery, thus you have actually not gone into LP yet. So, if there is a healer around, there's really no point in resisting that first lev. poison. However, if there isn't a healer, it saves your life.

Now, even if there IS a healer around, and it's a lev 2 posion, you're saving time you could be in battle... and anything higher than that and you're totally saving life.

Take into account as well the fact that if you DO NOT have a healer around, that resist just saved your life. BIG BIG deal there.

Yea, why was it determined that the original resist poison boon was too powerful?

then what changed? why did todd repost the same boon?

And could you clarify your post before that last one??? you have to be into lifepoints before you start taking poison. So you have to be hit with either vorpal, or have no armor left/on. I guess I just didn't understand that post

Nothing... I think McEwan thinks the 2 life for the resist is too high. *shrug*

I was only one LP before.....though I thought at one time, it was a passive ability that required no LP to use, but just lowered the poison level by one.

I dont know...
