Final Haven Rulebook Project - Now Moving Forward!

Post by GM-Taki »

As many of you know, we’ve been kicking around the idea of a full re-design of the Final Haven Rulebook for a while now. Jared got the ball rolling on this project, but now I’ve stepped in to see it through the next few phases. We’ll be clarifying the current rule set while also fleshing out the lore and world sections to offer a complete, production-quality “Player’s Handbook” for the Final Haven system.

We’d like to offer you, the player base, the opportunity to participate in this project and to leave your mark on the game forever more. Many of you contributed ideas and lore in the initial phases of the project, but now the time has come to put that information to use. We’ll be asking for contributing authors to take on a variety of assignments over the next year, beginning with the races of Phanterra and progressing through all sorts of fun stuff.

For those of you who are interested, here are the general rules for participation in the rulebook project:

1. Once you accept an assignment you’ll be expected to work with the Editor and complete your assignment by the stated deadline.
2. All contributors will be given proper attribution for their submissions, but all submissions become the intellectual property of Final Haven.
3. Contributors are asked to use the information collected in previous lore collections, in-game documents and the Final Haven Rulebook forum (http://finalhaven.aforumfree.com/) as the basis of their submissions. That said, contributors are free to add to the rich history of Phanterra through their submissions.
4. All submissions are subject to review by the Project Editor and the Final Haven GM staff. When possible and previous to the final deadline, suggestions for revision will be given to the original author of the submission.
5. Consideration for assignments will be determined by several factors, including previous writing experience, previous submissions to the Final Haven world lore, personal expertise with a given race / group / subject, quality of writing and adherence to deadlines.
