Player Drive

Post by GM-Mike »

Half way through the year and we are well short of our mark to continue at our current cost at our current sites (which we love) at their current fees (which we don't love). We will look for different sites before we raise prices, but we really would rather not do neither because, as I said, we really like the sites we currently play at.

We will therefore do a player drive to see if we can increase attendance over the next two events, as we know we have a big enough player base to more than make up the cost. Here is how it's going to work. The player responsible for bringing the most new players (to the final haven game) and/or the most returning players (those absent from the game for at least one year) to this next event who also return for the October event will receive a free year's worth of events.

In addition, we will have a door prize in the form of a gas card at this next event. Odds of winning will be weighted based upon the distance that you travel.

If this is hugely successful, we will lower the price of the one day.

do said players have to be willing and conscious for the event or simply present?

present is fine.

New players reading this may bring themselves and friends and qualify for the prize.

In case of a tie, the prize will be split amongst the winners.

Can you tell us how many paying players do you need at each of the next two events to break even for a target?

Approximately 50. If that sounds like a lot, it's because the deposits for the camps are half the price up front so what that includes is half the price of these last two events, half the cost of the four events next year, plus the one day event. We have additional expenses that are desires instead of needs, such as a new website...

Also keep in mind that our ongoing promotion gives you money back for each new player that you bring every event they return for a year so even if you don't bring in the most new players, you would still be getting discounts throughout next year.
