First set of Updates Weapon focus/Crush/Vorpal/Rage Jan 2005

Here are the first set up updates Please Ask questions in the question Forum.

Level 4: Weapon Focus—Pole Arm
The character gains plus one to damage with polearms such as spears, pikes, or catchers. This skill may not be used in conjunction with the rage skill unless both hands are on the weapon. For example: Lothar has weapon focus and carries a shield. He can swing for two damage. When faced with a mighty foe, Lothar drops his shield and activates rage, increasing his damage to three. After the Mighty foe has fallen, he picks up his shield again to face the puny minions. As soon as he grabs his shield, rage deactivates. If Lothar wishes to use rage again he will need to drop his shield, place both hands on the weapon, and then reactivate rage.

Level 4: Weapon Focus—Blades
With this skill the character gains plus one damage while using a sword or dagger. This skill may not be used in conjunction with the rage skill unless both hands are on the weapon. For example: Lothar has weapon focus and carries a shield. He can swing for two damage. When faced with a mighty foe, Lothar drops his shield and activates rage, increasing his damage to three. After the Mighty foe has fallen, he picks up his shield again to face the puny minions. As soon as he grabs his shield, rage deactivates. If Lothar wishes to use rage again he will need to drop his shield, place both hands on the weapon, and then reactivate rage.

Level 4: Weapon Focus—Headed
With this skill the character gains plus one damage while using headed weapons. This skill may not be used in conjunction with the rage skill unless both hands are on the weapon. For example: Lothar has weapon focus and carries a shield. He can swing for two damage. When faced with a mighty foe, Lothar drops his shield and activates rage, increasing his damage to three. After the Mighty foe has fallen, he picks up his shield again to face the puny minions. As soon as he grabs his shield, rage deactivates. If Lothar wishes to use rage again he will need to drop his shield, place both hands on the weapon, and then reactivate rage.

Level 4: Crush
The barbarian may swing "crush" with a blunt weapon. The character spends a life point to begin swinging crush. This combat style makes all attacks done against the barbarian vorpal damage. The only skill that can be used while swinging crush is the rage skill, however this skill may not be used in conjunction with the rage skill unless both hands are on the weapon (i.e. not using a shield). To turn this skill off a character must make a 5 count.

Level 4: Vorpal
A player may spend a life point to begin swinging vorpal. When swinging vorpal, all incoming attacks are considered crush. The only skills that can be used while swinging vorpal are the Rage skill and the Florantine Skill. This skill may not be used in conjunction with the rage skill unless both hands are on the weapon (i.e. not using a shield). The Vorpal skill may not be used with a blunt or headed weapon. To turn this skill off a character must make a 5 count.

Rage
This skill allows a character to summon forth their inner rage which increase the damage dealt with a weapon by one. While the character is filled with rage they can do nothing else but pursue their enemies and hack them to bits. Thus, they cannot use any skills that have a charge up time or take a life point to activate while raging. In addition, they cannot perform tasks such as searching bodies, carrying people off the field, or drinking potions. To activate rage cost a life point, and the rage effect lasts until it is turned off or combat ends. Rage may be turned off at will, but to reactivate it requires the expendature of another life point even if used during the same combat.
