Do quality points count in the armor type? I'm assuming no but want to make sure.

Why is it written into the rules that armor not fitting into medieval fantasy setting will be rejected? I thought this was supposed to be open source? Couldn't somone use the rules for a futuristic apocolyptic LARP?

Its open source fantasy. If they wanted to use it for futuristic LARP they would have to modify the wording in a lot of the skills.

OK so it's open source medieval fantasy, I think Blade Runner would still count as fantasy. :P

I don't think so, I've thought about doing a futuristic one day at some point and I don't think medieval or anything like that is actually mentioned in any of the skills, other places in the book maybe but not in any of the skills. That I can remember atleast.

We can use airsoft guns for the weapons, just make sure people are wearing goggels :D And there is no paint to wash off with airsoft gun unlike with paint ball guns.

There is even something cooler than airsoft guns, they still leave a bit of a welt, and i would be all for it, but a Post-Apocolyptic LARP out east called Endgame uses a brand called Actionsoft guns, which are bigger than airsoft, less dangerous, and shoot out paintball sized little foam balls, they rule!

thats the main supplier of the guns that i noticed, seem pretty simple to make, just gotta reverse engineer

The action ball guns on the site you listed dont really shoot all that far. They were meant to represent Black Powder. I think the actual "Actionball" guns are air powered and shoot at the same speed as paintball guns. In fact I think they were created as "Re-usable" paintballs. I dont know anything about paintball but can the fps on the markers be turned down?

Typical paintball guns fire around 250-350 fps. We play around 280 fps to keep the hurt at a bearable limit. If you get hit by a paint ball going 320 +fps you run the risk of drawing blood. Not good! It's all how close you are.

Air soft are good because you can get them at low fps 100-200 fps, uses only batteries, or manual power (springs), (does not require bulky air tanks that need to be refilled), and the amo is inexpensive. Not to mention you can get almost any gun type as an airsoft gun.

Also, if a larp ever starts that alows filling missles, goggles are a must!!

Yes, I have been researching. I'km looking for a birthday gift for myself :D

Pictures are cool. Easier and cheaper to get physreps/costumes

I dont like the combat system.

If we ever did a diferent larp, especially a future larp, I would be even more hardcore in terms of soak. I mean you get hit by a gun..you die!

What we really need is to make some blackpowder-type gun stand-ins for crossbows (as in same firing rate and damage), and have ourselves an Iron Kingdoms themed Larp!

The D20 is by Privateer Press, and they refuse to call their game steampunk. It's Full Metal Fantasy- everything mideval fantasy, but with steampower and blackpowder added in. Hell, they even have Gun Mages, who can cast projection spells through their pistols.
