Scout and Assassin rule changes...

Post by Daku of the North »

Now that the changes to Scout and Assassin are pretty much taken care of, a growing concern has spread among several PCs. You see, most of the Scouts didn't want Flee for one reason or another and wrote their character differently than expected simply because they didn't know what else to do with their remaining points. Meanwhile, the Assassins took the two levels of Alchemist needed to "brew poisons", forsaking points that could have been used for more useful things now.

Will they all be able to rewrite their characters to better take advantage of these wonderful changes?

It seems unfair if these changes took place specifically to benefit the PCs, but no changes to characters would be allowed so they could in fact benefit from it.

Now, I am not talking about someone who was a Healer Assassin and now wants to be a Warrior Assassin--that's not our concern and is none of our business in terms of rewriting characters--but considering many PCs (Scouts and Assassins) did change their characters specifically because of those two things, and now those two things are different, it would really suck if new PCs could benefit from this great change, but those who have been playing for longer could not.

As a PC, I love playing at Final Haven and I think it's safe to say that all of us do. I would like to see more than just new PCs benefit from these new rules, because--let's face it--if you can't enjoy playing your character at Final Haven, you're not going to play your character at all...

I am very excited about these new rules changes, and I can't wait for April 21!

Thank you,
Daku of the North

Anyone who wishes to re-write must submit a request to FinalHavenLARP@gmail.com . Just let us know what you are now, what you want to re-write to, and a quick reason why. I dont forsee any problems as long as you have a character that has been affected by the changes. You MUST, however, submit a re-write request before rewriting your character.

Unlike last year we will not be allowing mass re-writting of characters. There will only be very specific reasons that we will allow a re-write. Your example above would be a good reason especially since we already allow characters to change their disciplines as many times as they wish so allowing the rewrite above would only speed up the process.

-Eli (Full Elvish: Elaith Vonaduran Craulnober)

There once was a man named Eli,
A man who claimed he could not die.
But one thing makes him wail:
That's when there is no ALE!
Thus his tale: with no beer, he will cry.

(The dark haired, green eyed mage child has faded into the past leaving behind one not quite an adult, but clearly no longer a child. The warrior-mage mixture that he has become can only be described as a survivor. )
