Fear (pg 36)

Post by WayneO42 »

clarify wording:

While under the effects of Fear, no skills or abilities, except for Flee, may be used. Any charged or charging abilities are immediately interrupted and lost. A Feared character can neither attack nor defend - any strike dealt to the character is considered crush. The Feared character may still move, talk, manipulate objects, etc, but should role-play the Fear appropriately. Some examples of appropriate role-playing are running, cowering in a corner, hiding behind friends, standing and screaming, etc. The fear effect lasts for ten seconds.

great! always disliked that one
-Eli (Full Elvish: Elaith Vonaduran Craulnober)

There once was a man named Eli,
A man who claimed he could not die.
But one thing makes him wail:
That's when there is no ALE!
Thus his tale: with no beer, he will cry.

(The dark haired, green eyed mage child has faded into the past leaving behind one not quite an adult, but clearly no longer a child. The warrior-mage mixture that he has become can only be described as a survivor. )

might want to change that to

"Any damage has crush in addition to it's original calls" or something along those lines.

Right, so that when feared it doesn't turn magic vorpal to crush, but the incoming magic vorpal call surges and is unblockable when under fear. Good point.

While under the effects of Fear, no skills or abilities, except for Flee, may be used. Any charged or charging abilities are immediately interrupted and lost. A Feared character can neither attack nor defend - any strike dealt to the character is considered to be crush in addition to its call. Example: Rogar is under the effects of fear and is hit with "1 magic". Because he is under the effects of fear the call is considered "1 magic crush". The Feared character may still move, talk, manipulate objects, etc, but should role-play the Fear appropriately. Some examples of appropriate role-playing are running, cowering in a corner, hiding behind friends, standing and screaming, etc. The fear effect lasts for ten seconds.

Ok, so a character can't defend, but can they still avoid getting hit (IE: running out of the way)? I mean, you are just talking "You can't block with your shield, weapons or skills" right? Like, if someone is shooting arrows at you, you can run out of the way while screaming like a maniac?
Mike: For the majority of you, choosing to use a packet instead of a weapon is a hindrance because your aims suck.

Travis: Crap he is on to me.

That is correct.

We are talking purely skill based when their attacks hit you or your gear. If they legitimately can't hit you at all because you run away like a paycheck on mortgage day then your good.
