Its no secret Ive never liked having waylay in the Sage path to begin with. I like the crit strike even less.
Over the years we've argued and gone round and round about what a Path or Discipline mean. Simply put (in my opinion) ..
Warrior = Combat
Rogue = Sneaky
Empath = Boom
Healer = Healing
Sage = Knowledge

If you want to blur the lines then you combine Paths.
Simple. (or it should be)
Not every Path needs a combat ability.

we are not talking about maing sage combative, just balaning it's skills against the already existing skills. (they are much lower and higher time than even racial boons.) :(

Actually, we aren't even talking about that. We are, in fact, only talking about which skill people would prefer: Waylay or Crit Strike. This is _not_ about balancing or making Sage better in any way.
My posts in no way reflect that of anyone else nor are they in any way official.

Todd how do you show the sages knowledge of combat or being sneaky? I like the waylay for the simple fact that it shows the sages versatility because of their study and knowledge. I do completely agree that the sage should have something besides their discipline skill that is usable at an event as a brand new character and that the charge time should be inline with rogue.

I agree with Ark..

Move Waylay to Basic, make it the fourth skill to buy.. and Place the Crit Strike ability where Waylay is now.. gives a bit better balance to Sage in my opinion.

The arguement has been made (Not by me, I'm just stating what I've heard) the Sage is unbalanced because they only have 3 basic path skills while all the others have 4. And of the 3, 2 of them are used between events. So as a 0 lvl starting sage all you can do in game at your first event is read/write. Which I will say kind does suck your first event. But overall I thin Sage is a rockin' Path. I'm always surprised that we don't have more of them in the game.

also, the skills they do have have higher times and lower numbers than other paths. (which would make sense maybe if they got MORE skills.)

Not really, a jack of all trades is never as good as the person that applies more time to their craft.
