Atrum, I see your Google analogy. I just like to think of the Fantasy Sage as being "Google" on two legs. In most settings the sage is effectively useless except for their knowledge. FH has done a large amount to make the untrue in this setting. As you said, they have skills from every oth...

I stopped reading around page 3 and read this page but it seems that there is going to be time spent before game on giving stories to the sages to be used for sage hints and then any more hints would cause the sage to have to venture out. I like this idea alot. Sages aren't supposed to be omniscien...

Monk: Level 4 Meditate

I know the game likes to support the one ability per level of skill paradigm, but I have a modest proposal. A 4th Level Monk should have some "discount" to their survival requirements for resources. In my thinking, if a person can induce a death-like trance on themselves whenever they want...

arcane spells

my understanding is that in order to "have" the spell, you need two things: 1) Sufficient Arcane to cast it (the right level) 2) A physical copy of the spell. To do this, you just have to copy the spell from another character (there is no skill needed other than Arcane. i.e. you don't have...

unless I'm reading this wrong, you are saying that a sage cannot get info/hints about a magic item unless the sage was present at the time the item was acquired. That seems extremely sucky. The whole point of the sage (either Loremaster or Bard type) is that the adventurers can bring them loot and h...
