Eric: Yes there is a difference. there's a table in the rules of minimum and maximum lengths of weapons. it'd be pretty intuitive to figure out large/small from that

Yea because it's really not the big a deal when fighting NPC's, and even in PC to PC combat, the big dudes who can now swing crush with base 2 now have to take vorpal without being protected by a shield (and while using a very slow weapon that can't parry very well). and eric, connor may be swinging...

I completely agree with McEwan. I use a combination of handax and a hand/half ax purely for variety and a character attribute, but I'd be five times more effective in combat if I used a nice, balanced, long (comparitively) short-sword (like everyone else does). I voted consensus, but that needs to be qualified. From my limited experience with LARP, it would seem to me that all of the options need to come into play at one time or another. A comittee needs to come up with the base rules, and needs to ratify any modifications or new rules. I like the marshall...

yea, but now that i think more about it, where do you draw the line there? An attacker could easily hit someone with a melee weapon even to probably the 10 foot range. Then the rules get complex again. Probably too simple to say that there is a count (whatever count is decided on) and no attacks mad...

It'd probably be hard to determine what to do regarding attacking someone in a pit. To be realistic, I'd probably offer no melee weapons (except maybe a polearm) can be used to attack a person climbing out of a pit. You're just not going to have the reach to hit someone until they're almost out. The...

... if there is an answer to this one, sweet! We've been trying to figure that out for the last few events, to no avail.
