Re: Not-haven
The pair looked to each other nervously. It seemed that this man held some sway over the local ruffians, for they quickly scampered off without another word. Cautiously, Zandron looked the man up and down, quickly scanning for any irregularities. Finding none, aside from the flamboyant costume--what...

Not-haven
"Oy, what's wrong wit' yer ears?" a stinking human called, his voice well-lubricated by drink. He leaned casually against a brick wall, far too few teeth in his grin, bottle in hand. Zandron's eyes quickly noted the sword at his hip, and a long, narrow bulge in one boot. Dagger, balanced ...

Sometime during the second year...
Zandron swaggers into the Tipsy Traveler, the feathers on his hat bouncing, Mahto on his heels. One hand rests on a sword hilt on his hip, and the other waves frustratedly, gripping a copy of The Haven Chronicles. "Thirteen мoons," he groans, loud enough for all the patrons to hear, "...

Re: Playing multiple characters
That's a good point, Kaylan.
It would seem that maybe a few rules could use some looking at; there are what look to be a couple artifacts from previous versions.
Is there a plan from the GM's side of things to revamp?

Re: Playing multiple characters
I understand why playing multiple characters could potentially be abused, but the current system makes it nearly impossible UNLESS your first character is the abusive, annoying "between game character" that you mentioned; the high checkout cost means that the character you initially check ...

Playing multiple characters
GMs and players, Unless I'm misunderstanding the rules, here's how it works: -Check in as character #1 Friday night, get check-in loot, play until game break -Check out as character #1 at game break, pay upkeep (sometimes paying is delayed until final checkout) -Check in as character #2 during game ...

Re: Pirate hunting
Halstead offered no response; indeed, the captain was nowhere to be seen. Zandron frowns, throwing a subtle look to Mahto, subtly communicating as they had hundreds of times that something was wrong. The elf sweeps his eyes across the two ships, quickly scanning for any signs of continuing struggle,...

Re: Pirate hunting
Zandron looked up from the small band of Deegrade's crew that had just now dropped their weapons. "Halsteed! " he shouted, keeping his eyes on the captives.
"You choose what we do with Deeegraide?"

Re: Pirate hunting
"Fools! Cowards!" bellowed Deegrade, true to his unfortunate name, "Fight or be slain." He produced a crossbow leveling it at his own crew. They shakily drew their weapons, turning hesitantly to Zandron and Halstead's now-arriving boarding crew. Zandron sighed, lifting his blade...

Re: Pirate hunting
Thunder shook the air, slamming into Zandron's mangled ears, as the ships exchanged blasts of balls and grapeshot. Halstead and Deegrade bellowed orders to reload, take aim, and fire as the ships rocked back and forth, decks momentarily obscured by the clouds of blackpowder. With a crash, the gangpl...

Re: Pirate hunting
Cries of preparation echoed from Deegrade's ship, now close enough to read the lettering on the starboard prow. Deegrade's The Six Bitches was only a cable away, just out of arrow range. Zandron's keen eye noted that though her crew was preparing bows, the ship had no rear cannons. He drew out a not...

Re: Pirate hunting
The grizzled elf nodded. With any luck, he'd soon have a ship once more. And luck had been kind to Zandron lately - the crew's ranks had increased threefold, and the last few moons had yielded bounties both monetary and political. And the battles... Zandron smiled to himself and touched his fingers ...

Re: Dual Wield and Use Shield stacking
some skills were just not meant to stack at all or more then a certain number of times. the reason behind the short size restriction on duel wield is a safety one, and I don't think it needs a buff anyway. the reason behind use shield not stacking was that there is none it just doesn't :P <snip> i ...

Re: August 2013 Feeback
Good: -Loved the overall plot. My group arrived late, so we missed the majority of the bickering at the beginning. -Puzzles were great. I love the group teamwork to solve them - this session more than any other felt like a real roleplaying game, which brings my third point. -I prefer the smaller gro...

Dual Wield and Use Shield stacking
This regards the stacking of two skills: Dual Wield (and Florentine, since they are identical) and Use Shield. In nearly every other case, doubly investing in a skill (resists, Escape Artist, Ambidexterity, Use Bow, etc.) grants some kind of bonus. Dual Wield and Use Shield are two glaring exception...
