First 2019 event feedback (May 3-5)

Hey, hope all that showed had a good weekend. Let us know what you think. What can we improve on? What did you like?

As always, feel free to PM Zydana (Angie) if you don't want to post publicly.

Re: 2019 rules spitball

My biggest two biggest issues with essence points are 1) Do they make the game more fun? Personally I don’t think they do. And 2) What do they accomplish mechanically that the rules didn’t allow in the first place? Why not use Magical Components to fuel spells? (I already have an idea on how to do M...

2019 rules spitball

Here’s my mechanical spit-balling for the 2019 season. These are merely my opinions and I will gladly respond to any questions regarding clarification on mechanics in regard to my proposed changes as well as concerns that I think warrant additional conversation. Essence pools: Get rid of it. It was ...

Holding ownership

I've felt strongly that the ability to own a holding shouldn't be tied to disciplines. I propose that the old way be reinstated. Holdings up to maximum (Base value is one without any skills) without penalty obviously have no penalty. Each additional holding incurs a 25% cumulative to production. (If...

Re: Deep pockets

Copy pasta from my response on FB.

My two cp on the subject. Bump it up to advanced, keep the essence reduction, ditch the self stacking.

Re: Diverse Training

In my experience, I've only seen its use getting only level 1 of a discipline.

It was a way for savage folks to snag disguise, or privileged characters to get scout (which I think with the rules changes this is no longer viable)

Re: Clarification please on Simulacrum

"Eli" Could a caster duplicate form fitting durable armor without crafting skill? If cast with someone who has Level 4 Craftsman, more complex items can be copied. form fitting durable armor is an EXOTIC item, not a "special item", that would be magic item or magic-ish plot item...

question for characters that bought languages at char gen

My character Mikklen bought both languages at startup instead of items. What was the ruling on those languages known.

Did we get a free cultural lore per language bought?

Re: Blocking packet and missile effects with fists and weapo

This is why I'm looking for GM response. I've seen the field call made multiple times but there is no solid rule against blocking ranged attacks with fists or a weapon.

Blocking packet and missile effects with fists and weapons

Is it legal?
Does the call surge?

Re: rationale on empath sleep skill.

The channel skills and sleep were the only skills to have the hand above your head while charging. A numbered vorpal sleep call is still just as powerful when delivered to the back.

rationale on empath sleep skill.

Specifically why does an empath need to hold their hand in the air for the charge up of the skill?

Is this just a carry over from channel?

Re: RULES! (No Really)

Then I suggest the staff update the skill to reflect if the skill is meant to be a single haven or if multiple are allowed (even if it's a capped low number like three at any given time). It's ambiguous and rules should never be ambiguous unless it's intentional.

Re: RULES! (No Really)

Does the elves focused channel stack with the boon as well? It's a channel in name but was wondering how they interacted. Also, could the number of havens that a scout/HG have out at any given time be added to the skill. I personally don't see why a smart scout couldn't chain a series of havens toge...
