Re: Research Suggestion

Additionaly if multiple sages all research the same thing, all the points stack... but a limit of say 3 sages per research item could be put as only so many people can effectively look for the same thing?? I was curious about this too as I'm sure that what I'm researching at the moment, others are ...

*As those wishing to do so scamper off into the darkness, Val calls out to them*

"What of the rest of us? Shall we remain here until you return? What if you have not returned by daybreak?"

**To Kiddwyn**

I don't think it wise for either Drake and particuarly Kels to go. Should the worst occur, it may be more than one battle that would be lost to us. I, for one, would hate to see that thing driven by action.

*Val watches this display in horror. She is afraid for her life as well as the lives of her traveling companions. After the dust of battle has settled, Val looks into the darkness in the direction of which the creature dissapeared. Her face blank as she speaks to no one in peticular* "Perhaps, ...

Yep, it seems detect lie is instantanious upon spending a life point and detect magic takes 15 seconds of studying a specific object.

Every GM has an index card that says Yes and one that says No. The GM passes the player the card, the player opens it, reads it and passes it back to the GM. That would work nicely, but what about PC vs PC detect lies?

Perhaps whispering should become common practice as to not arouse suspision when all of a sudden a PC starts whispering things dealing with Magic and Lies when they don't normally.

*Val keeps her distance from the creature as a horrified expression is cast upon her face. Her safety is her concern as she is unarmed and unarmored. She glances around to note the position of Delayne. Val then moves slowly to put as many shields as possible between herself and the creature.*

Detect Magic/Detect Lie

lets use detect magic for the example.. Currently how this works is that a player will tell whoever is running the plot that they are going to detect magic. The GM will then announce if it is or not and everyone around can hear the answer. What if the person detecting the magic does not wish the res...

*Val seperates herself from the sages and takes on the task of collecting items that may be a value. Potions, empty vials, dried herbs, clean cloth, bread, blank parchment, a quill and a large black book are slipped into a silk bag. She exchanges words and a few smiles with Hannah before she waves t...

Bringing up another thought dealing with mimicing read/write; What would you need in order to learn (mimic) another language? The name of the language you wish to know? Someone who can teach you? A book on that language? A sample writting piece of that language? As the current rules are, I guess any...

I thought you were to decipher the written words and if you don't write those words translated onto another piece of paper, then you'd have to spend another hour on it because as soon as you're done reading it, you forget it.

That's how I do my recall ability. I have a book (I hope to eventually have a whole library to bring) and I study from it. Or if possible, I directly study the object in question (a map, a corpse, a wall, whatever).

sorry, that's a lil off subject
