Threats?

Chargoth's head turns to face Incarius. His eyes are passive under his visor. "First off, I don't orders from you. You don't show up on my chain of command. Ain't no law says I have to take orders from you neither. You try laying me in chains unjustly an it'll just show how unfit you are for th...

Count me out?

Chargoth looks an Incarius with something akin to horror and disgust. His face impossible to read under a veil of steel. “Let me get this straight. First we walk all the way down there with narry a problem. Then we stand around ape jawed looking at a someone who got himself corpsified. Then you all ...

Misunderstand

The hand-to-hand mechanic was not asked for to counter shatter or Disarm. I like disarm. It makes sense. It gives people a way to defeat a foe with out killing them. Tha Hand to hand mechanic was proposed to allow people (untrained) to fight each other in a mechanic driven way. It was to enchance th...

Monk

So this Savage warrior Discapline we are talking about. Two weapons and a +1 to damage? I'm not sure how swinging two, two damage fists compares to swinging two vorpal weapons. (having not seen that much in combat.) Derick had mentioned Lash as a potential. That's not a bad combo given that lash onl...

Dier_cire

I am inclined to agree with Dier_cire on this one. The monk's existing skill base seems okay. I like the shield/bracer bits just because it is fairly cool. But it seems like you'd have to add some rules about the bracers you can use, and what not. As for the Monk with Parry. Parry is so high level o...

Re: Rules

OK, I just want to make a couple points. First, as stated by the NPC's, no rule changes will take effect until the new session, 2006 unless there is a serious game unbalancing rule issue. Using fist is not. Second, will one take crush damage if they are using their waylay skill with a fist fisrep? ...

Re: Abusive

5 second count:Allows less abuse, does allow people to fight(gimped obviously) and represents people being able to beat the crap out each other. This seems like a much better plan. So you would be more in favor of something like: Any character can swing 1 fist phys rep for 1 damage. All damage done...

Abusive

To me the ability to machine gun with fists,(Hero/Rage) is only a tiny part of abuse that you might take. Now you can sneak up on a fully armed warrior from behind and beat the snarks out them with your fist. The intent, was to make an option in which everyday people could fight with fists, (in a no...

Problem

The problem I see with the ruling above is that it doesn't allow most people to defend themselves at all. When do you get your first mandatory hero point? lvl 30? And you need to be a master warrior in order to use rage. This means you still have a serious lack of choices for most people. I like the...

IMHO

I absolutely agree that Realism must often take a backseat in a game. ANY game to facilitate game play. However, Mechanics of any game system must assist, not hinder it's roleplaying. The best games are one where the mechanics help fit the mold of the world. Final Haven rules are designed for the ma...

Need

I think the general idea on why the rule is desired is that there is a level of difficulty in the suspension of disbelief when two people become completely unable to defend themselves even when they are trained soldiers. We all know it is possible for a normal human being to beat another human being...

Watching

Chargoth stands with his back to the group, away from the body. He appears to be watching the rear, and keeping a look out the side of his helmet. The light gleams off the dents in his shield. His armor rattle a little, but not much, being in better condition than it actually appears.
